After 3 long years, the first class has successfully written and defended their theses. It has been a journey written on the pages of many minds and it’s clear that this class has made a profound impact on each other and the rest of the program that will be talked about even in their coming absence. The historic day draws near. Next week the first ever class of the Arkansas Writers Program will walk across the stage and exit not as students, but as MFA graduates.
If you’d like to hear selections from theses, check out the reading later this week. April 23, 2015 7 pm at South on Main in Little Rock. Whether it is considered a victory or farewell, the community of writers at UCA and the surrounding areas look forward to hearing a lot of new work, much of which has only been seen by a handful of people. Writers Scott Lewis, Lynne Landis, Stacey Jones, and John Mitchel will read together as a class one final time.
We hope to see you there.
