Stacey Margaret Jones is a poet from De Smet, South Dakota and a graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota with a degree in Elementary Education and English.

Ms. Jones recently read Phinneas Redux, by Anthony Trollope, which she calls “one of the Palliser novels by a master story teller, completely charming, engaging and nuanced.” She highly recommends this work.

If given a chance, Ms. Jones dream dinner party would consist of her husband, Edith Wharton, Coco Chanel, Alberto Giacometti, and Chaim Potok. She cites the writers Sylvia Plath, Ted Hughes, Billy Collins, Sharon Olds, Edith Wharton, Chaim Potok, Alberto Giacometti, Mark Rothko, Kazuo Ishiguro, and JM Coetzee as her prime influences. She began writing because she “couldn’t not write” and her favorite poem is The Shot by Ted Hughes. Her favorite musician is Antonin Dvorak and she loves the movie Interiors.

Ms. Jones has numerous hobbies and interest outside her writing life including travelling, running, spending time with her dogs, and enjoying fine cuisine.

Ms. Jones is enjoying her MFA career so far and working to create many more masterful poems.
